On Saturday, February 1, 2025, Special Olympics Arizona (SOAZ) will host its Douglas Polar Plunge. Special Olympics athletes, families, friends, and fans will all be "Freezin' for a Reason" supporting athletes living in southern Arizona.
The 2025 SOAZ Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support Douglas Area athletes by plunging into the icy winter waters of the Veterans Park Memorial Swimming Pool. Whether you take the plunge yourself or just come out to cheer on your friends, you can be a part of the coolest event in town! Music, food, and costumes will be for a great cause.
Event Schedule

10:30 AM Plunge!
Get your creative juices flowing, create a great costume for you or your team, and participate in the superhero-themed costume contest! (Costumes are encouraged but not required.) Prizes will go to the best costumes in each division.
To participate, all plungers must sign a Waiver Form. Plungers under 18 must have their form signed by a parent or guardian.
You don't have to risk hypothermia to participate in the Polar Plunge. However, we need as many warm hearts as brave souls to have a successful event. So bring your friends, family, and supporters to join in the fun.
